Bab belajar bahasa inggris ini akan kita mulai dengan memahami terlebih dahulu dasar-dasar tenses.

Dasar-dasar Tenses

Tenses adalah kata kerja bahasa inggris untuk menunjukan waktu, yakni; sekarang, masa depan, atau masa lalu.

Serta tentang terjadinya suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa. 

Tenses terdiri dari 3 Pokok Bagian:

1. Present, (kini)
2. Past, (dulu)
3. Future. (nanti)

Bentuk, Pengertian, Rumus, dan Contoh Tenses

Berikut ini adalah pengertian, bentuk, rumus dan contoh tenses.

1. Present

Present adalah suatu kata kerja yang menunjukan waktu saat ini.

2. Past

Past adalah suatu kata kerja yang waktu yang sudah lampau, dibagi menjadi:

a. Simple Past Tense

Simple Past tense digunakan untuk menyatakan peristiwa atau keadaan yang telah “Lampau”. 

Lampau dalam artian tidak harus sudah lama terlalu, intinya sudah lewat. bisa saja kemarin, sejam yang lalu, setahun yang lalu, seabad yang lalu, dan sebagainya. 

b. Past Continuous Tense

Past Continuous Tense digunakan dalam menyatakan peristiwa atau keadaan yang sedang terjadi, tapi tidak sedang terjadi saat ini, melainkan sedang terjadi namun dulu, sudah lewat.

c. Past Perfect Tense

Past perfect tense adalah bentuk waktu untuk menunjukan, atau menyatakaan sesuatu yang telah selesai dilakukan pada saat itu, dimasa lampau atau waktu yang telah lalu.

d. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Past Perfect Continuous Tense digunakan dalam menyatakan peristiwa atau keadaan tentang sesuatu yang telah dan sedang terjadi dimasa lampau.

3. Future

Future adalah kata kerja dalam menunjukan waktu nanti atau yang belum terjadi.

	Present Perfect Tense	S + has/have + V(III)	•{I-You-We-They} have gone there •{He-She-lt} has gone there	•{I-You-We-They} have not gone there •{He-She-lt} has not gone there	• Have {I-You-We- They} gone there ? • Has {He-She-lt} gone there?
	Past Perfect Tense	S + Had + V(III)	•{I-You-We-They- He-She-lt} had gone there	•{I-You-We-They- He-She-lt} had not gone there	• Had {I-You-We- They-He-She-lt} gone there?
	Present Perfect Continuous Tense	S + has/have + been + V(I) + ing	•{I-You-We-They} have been living there •{He-She-lt} has been living there	•{I-You-We-They} have not been living there •{He-She-lt} has not been living there	• Have {I-You-We-They} been living there ? • Has {He-She-lt} been living there ?
Future	Bentuk Will	S + will + V(I)	•{I-You-We-They-He-She-lt} will go there	•{I-You-We-They-He-She-lt} will not go there	•Will {I-You-We-They-He-She-lt} go there ?
